LT Throws in the Towel

February 5, 2010

Well, what we were all expecting is finally here. Yesterday LaDanian Tomlinson said he doesn’t want to play for the Chargers anymore. In a radio interview this week he stated that he felt disconnected and questioned the commitments of some of the players. If you can’t tell, he doesn’t want to go quietly.

“I don’t know what it is,” he said. “We’re (at) the point where these guys that come into the league, it’s not about the same values no more. It’s not about football, the things that you’re taught — faith, family, football. To them, it’s notabout that no more. It’s the name … It’s ‘me.’ And that’s the thing that’s so disappointing to me, because I can’t deal with that no more. If that’s going to be allowed I just can’t deal with that type of stuff.”

Co host Scott Kaplan of the “Scott and BR Show” on XX Sports Radio asked LT about his disappointment as a team leader, and in some of the things in the Chargers playoff loss.

“Some of this I feel like is taken out of my hands,” Tomlinson said. “You said a leader and all this kind of stuff, but there was a big part of this year, where for whatever reason, I didn’t feel connected as far as the team, the unity, togetherness, family. I didn’t feel that at times in the season. There were times that I did. But I’m saying that was a problem in the locker room, I felt like. Just my opinion.”

Tomlinson said he was as happy this season as he had been in some time, saying he felt the current Chargers team cost him his best chance at a Super Bowl. A playoff loss, a game in which the team committed numerous uncharger-like mistakes, changed his thinking.

The way I think of it, it would be tough to be LT. He used to be the face of the Chargers. The Chargers were HIS team. But, now Philip Rivers is the team leader, and LaDanian is no longer as big of a name as it used to be. I don’t think he wants to take the pay cut, or share the stardom either. When you think San Diego Chargers, you don’t think LT anymore. You think Philip Rivers, Darren Sproles & Vincent Jackson. That would be hard on any declining NFL stars ego.

I don’t know what us football fans are supposed to think. I don’t think the Chargers will be a very different team without him, as he wasn’t getting a lot of playing time anyway. Maybe the Bolts wont choke this year.

Chargers Vs. Steelers: A Disappointing End

October 4, 2009

The Chargers were in Pittsburgh today, and had a great second half offensively. The first half was absolutely terrible. No offense, no defense… nothing. It all added up to 21 points in the first half. Take away one of those TD’s and I think the Chargers would’ve won. My player of the game: Antonio Gates. He had a big game, 9 receptions for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Chargers had an awesome comeback in the second half, scoring their only 28 points. They just dug themselves to deep of a hole.  Next week the Chargers have a bye, and the Steelers are facing Detroit (1-3-0, 4th in the AFC North). So, after this week:

Chargers (2-2, 2nd in AFC West)

Steelers (2-2, 3rd in AFC North)

Upset of Week 4:

Denver Broncos: 17   Dallas Cowboys: 10

That game was a HUGE surprise.  I was hearing all about Dallas all week, and how phony Denver 3-0 start is. I’m not saying that the Broncos, who lead the AFC West at 4-0, deserve it… but they are there and that’s all that matters now. They beat Cincinnati on a fluke play, but whatever.

They have a tough schedule coming up. If they can go through the Patriots, the Chargers, the Ravens and the Steelers with 2 or less losses they might actually be a contender. I don’t see it happening, though. My prediction is that they will have MAX, 1 win. New England, Baltimore and Pittsburgh will dominate them on defense and out play them on offense. If they are not beat up after their game with the Patriots, then Denver and my Chargers are going to have a close game on their hands. However, if the Broncos go out there tired and beat up from the previous week, the Chargers can put it away early.

Pages for Bandew

August 14, 2009

Hey this is The Jeary helping out Bandew. I don’t know if you know about this but there are alot of pages on Bandew’s site so I thought I would explain what they do for you. If you go to a gray bar above this post that says home on it if you were to go to the right you will see the tab for a page that is labeled 2008 Charger’s Championship Page. This page has youtube videos for the chargers and pictures and tons of things. Now if you go to the right again and click on the next tab that says About Bandew it will be a page on a this site. S0 let’s say that you wanted to find a thing on wallpapers for your backround of your desktop that are related to Bandew then you could just go to the page to the right that says B4 Wallpapers. Let’s travel to the right to see the page of the merchandise he sells on the page labeled merch. So now the final page is the logo page and this is one of the best. It’s Over!

July 31, 2009

NaBloPoMo is over! It’s about time. That felt like one long month.  It’s been an amazing month in terms of views. This was Bandew444’s second best mont on record, with 614 views. I know it’s not that many, but we don’t have a whole lot of advertising, and B4 and the Jeary aren’t very big and we don’t have a lot of funding, I’d say that’s pretty good. At the beginning of the month I predicted that we would have 66 posts today. Right now there is 78 posts, not including this one. As of today Bandew444’s has 3,057 views. 5,000 is going to be huge. Well, anyway this is the last post for NaBloPoMo + Bandew444’s, sorry Jeary. But like I said earlier, It’s just been an amazing, wild, tiring month, we’ve had tons of progress with wallpapers, our new store an so much more. I just want to say thanks to Zazzle, for letting us put up our products, thanks to Jeary for all the posts and help, and thanks to you, the reader for… well, reading! Keep coming here, because I promise that there will be so much more, and when football season rolls around… oh boy. Thanks again!

Ballpark Ambiance or Good Team?

July 19, 2009

I went to the Padres game today, and everything was fine. I got to see my first game from a ballpark suite, and being in Pectco Park, you know it had to be nice.  There was all sorts of food, The balcony on suite 18, right above 3rd base had an amazing view, and it was an overall great experience. But, while I was up there, the Pads were down on the field getting their asses kicked. So, my question to you is, is it worth having a great new stadium (Petco is now 5 years old (2004 opening year)) and having a losing baseball team OR is it better to have a winning baseball team and a bad park? I like having the 3rd newest stadium in the Major Leagues, but I just can’t stand having the freakin Padres the way they are right now in there. My solution: give the Chargers Petco! Just kidding. But seriously, the Bolts deserve a brand new stadium.

Come on Sports Networks!

July 15, 2009

So, I was watching the Home Run Derby (on ESPN) and I noticed when you watch sports on ESPN, your getting 1/3 of the sport you’re trying to watch and 2/3 crap interviews. It’s annoying, and I’d even say that’s an understatement. I missed seeing Adrian Gonzalez, which we all know I’ve been waiting to watch (if you’ve been reading), and Albert Pujols. Not cool. It’s either they’re in a little box in corner of your screen, or they’re just not there at all. I’m not looking forward to any Chargers games on Fox or ESPN, I’ll only see the last minute of it! Ok, now I’m just exaggerating. But I don’t know anyone who likes seeing interviews instead of the event you tuned into Fox/ESPN/NBC to watch.
